A little about Shane Priaulx.
I have always enjoyed working outside, digging in the dirt and flowers. One of my first jobs was working at Peter Knippel Nursery on Bank Street under the watchful eye of Joan Johnston and Peter himself.
After high school, I chose to make horticulture my career. In 1993 I graduated from the Horticulture and Landscaping Technician program at Algonquin College.
The idea of starting my own business came in the spring of 2007. After 15 of years working in the industry, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to give it a try on my own.
I started the season off with my old truck, a new trailer, miscellaneous equipment, a wheelbarrow and my dad on call for back up when I needed an extra hand.
With the support of the many contacts that I had made over the years from within the industry, I was able to pick up enough work to establish a steady and loyal clientele.
Today, I am proud to say that The Professional Gardener is a member of Landscape Ontario and a winner of a 2014 Award of Excellence.
The PG team consists of two maintenance crews. Each crew is led by a Certified Landscape Technician. Every season we aim to employ apprentices and students of various horticulture programs within the region. Our objective is to provide extensive garden maintenance services in a professional manner and to maintain a friendly, open relationship with each of our clients.
